Planning and Designing of Cycle track and Junction Improvements

With an evident surge in spread of new MRTS corridors, it can be inferred that the city has taken a conscious decision to move towards a sustainable future by reducing carbon footprint, pollution and vehicular congestion on the roads. To strengthen this dynamic transformation that the city is going through, MMRDA being the visionary city authority, has recognized the value of reinforcing cycling infrastructure, safe intersections and facilitating people with an improved public realm. To set a precedent that even an expressway, in Indian cities & context, can be NMT & pedestrian friendly, the existing 25km long Eastern Express Highway (EEH) connecting Thane with Mumbai has been identified for intervention.
