Bommanahalli Junction is located at the junction of National Highway 44 and Begur Road. It is located along National Highway 44 at this stretch and two metro stations are located at walking distance from the junction. The junction is surrounded by residential neighborhoods and commercial stretches along main movement lines. There are several public amenities including hospitals, schools, colleges and parks in the vicinity. NH44 experiences heavy traffic especially during the morning and evening peak hours as it connects the city of Bengaluru to Electronics City and other major destinations like Hosur. Furthermore, this area receives extremely high footfall owing to its residential nature. Lack of pedestrian infrastructure was one of the major concerns at this intersection.

A one month long trial was conducted at the junction. It aimed to address these issues by firstly, correcting the road geometry to streamline vehicular movement and reduce vehicular turning speeds at the junction. Additionally, pedestrian crossings were introduced at all the arms. As a result of the proposed design, the public realm was increased by 246%. Additionally, a signaling strategy was also proposed during the period of the trial.
